FlyZip SR is a straightforward, fast and easy to use compressing and decompressing utility, operating right on your Palm. With FlyZip SR, you can double the amount of data, stored on your Palm, without modifying your hardware. FlyZip SR is small and elegant, yet a powerful application that uses only 78K on your Palm. Nowadays, it is probably the most inexpensive way, how to enhance the memory. FlyZip SR uses patent pending compression technology, which is optimized for handheld devices.
FlyZip SR 3.02 now offers ARM-native processing power for application ultra fast compression/decompression on Palm OS 5 devices. User can choose between operating modes optimized for compression speed or compressed application size. Using speed mode on Palm OS 5 device Tungsten T, the compression/decompression speed is close to 1Mbyte/sec for typical applications or even exceeds 1.7Mbyte/sec for selected applications.
FlyZip SR compresses the application file together with corresponding data files with one easy operation (tap).

FlyZip SR operates in EASY or ADVANCED mode for your convenience.
FlyZip SR supports all screen resolutions and graphics. Whether you're using a Sony Clie, a Palm OS 5 device, a Hand Era 330 or just a plain 160x160 device, FlyZip SR supports you in color and grayscale. It supports jog dials and even the new Tungsten 5 way pad.
FlyZip SR built-in launcher (available in ADVANCED mode only) makes launching of zip files even easier than before. Built-in launcher is based on a revolutionary multitasking engine, which makes the interface incredibly fast.
FlyZip SR self-extraction and self-zipping functions works perfect. You can launch compressed applications without manual decompression, straight from your launcher. Application will stay compressed on exit.
FlyZip SR offers to beam compressed files to other FlyZip users, to cut the beam time.
FlyZip SR offers to customize the user’s interface (available in ADVANCED mode only) with built in filters.
FlyZip SR compression rate on industry standard test files set Calgary corpus is 2.32:1(more than 2 times) in "speed" mode and 2.83:1 in "size" mode. Some of the Palm OS applications can be compressed about 5 times.
Compression speed on Palm OS 5 device is close to 1Mbyte/sec for typical applications or even exceeds 1.7Mbyte/sec for selected applications. Compression speed on typical Palm OS 4.x device is about 45 – 100 kB/sec. Now, the compression or decompression of 100Kb file takes only one tenth of second on Palm OS 5 device and 2-3 seconds on Palm OS 4 devices.
